Ecolab reported non-GAAP Q2 EPS of $1.13, beating the Capital IQ consensus estimate by a penny and up from $1.08 a year ago. On a GAAP basis, the company earned $1.01 per share, up from $0.87 per share the same quarter last year. Total revenue of $3.46 billion increased from $3.32 billion a year ago, and beat the estimated $3.40 billion.
For Q3, the company expects adjusted diluted earnings per share in the $1.36 to $1.44 range, rising 6% to 13% compared with adjusted diluted earnings per share of $1.28 a year ago. This compares to Wall Street estimates of $1.42 per share. FY17 adjusted diluted EPS forecast of $4.70 to $4.90 is up 8% to 12% for FY16, and straddling the consensus estimate of $4.79.
