AT&T has been awarded a 10-year contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to replace DISA’s Hawaiian network supporting Pacific Theater military operations. The company will manage the network for DISA over the life of the contract. Financial terms of the contract weren’t disclosed.
Separately, the company has launched its 5G Evolution in parts of Indianapolis on Wednesday, providing faster wireless speeds and an enhanced experience for customers. The wireless network is expected to be offered in over 20 metro areas by the end of this year. Over the 2014-2016 period, the company has invested more than $350 million in the Indianapolis area to enhance reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance of the network.
